Wars held by United
CCL DIVISION ONE
Coulsdon United
Warlingham 0
Warlingham traveled the short journey to Coulsdon on Saturday looking to get their stop start season back on track against one of the leagues basement clubs.
Manager Mark Doherty was without Dean Suckling, Ben Stewart and Simon Mart as well as any recognised first team keeper due to injuries and work commitments, James Hodge normally a defender took over in goal.
Warlingham started well but when they got into the last third they looked a little rusty and the normally lethal pairing of James Ang and Lee Janson failed to really test the home keeper much in the first half.
Wars looked very comfortable at the back with Kevin Vidal, Ricky Bygraves and Micheal Brown dealing with a very quick Coulsdon front line superbly.
Tom Greenhouse worked well down the right flank but most of his crosses were dealt with by the home keeper.
In the midfield Paul Stewart ,Richard Williams and Martin Bugden dominated and gave the forwards plenty of ball but play often broke down at that point.
The second half was very similar yet Wars had many chances to break the deadlock. Rob Brown was introduced for Bugden at half time and Anthony Williams was given a more central role to try
and create a bit of magic for Warlingham.
Ang was very unlucky
on three occasions and both he and Janson worked their socks off but hard as Wars tried Coulsdon dog in well to hold out for a point much to Warlingham's frustration.
