Look upwards for a display of magnificent flying machines as Biggin Hill International Air Fair takes to the skies this weekend.

This year the show will mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Each day there will be six hours of flying displays and more than 100 aircraft on the ground, featuring planes and pilots from around the world.

The daily air display will include a simulated Battle of Britain scenario. Witness a scramble by four Spitfires and four Hurricanes as the alert is sounded and a dogfight between a Supermarine Spitfire and a Messerschmitt 109. The scenario will be enhanced with pyrotechnics and archive film footage on big screens.

The Royal Air Force's Red Arrows display team also presents one of its dazzling displays and The Falcons Freefall Parachute Team drop in.

The RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will take pride of place in the viewing enclosures and will fly the famous Lancaster bomber each day.

Meanwhile, a Mk 1 Hawker Hurricane will be re-united with its original pilot.

Flying in all the way from Christchurch will be The Royal New Zealand Air Force with a Boeing 757 and there will be aircraft from French and Belgium Air Forces as well as military representatives from Canada, Czech Republic, Ireland, South Africa and the US.

The show also includes exhibitor stands, food and drink halls and a funfair.
