PEOPLE in Dorking have less than two weeks to have their say on the future of the town's library.

Surrey County Council's (SCC) scheme to relocate the library from Pippbrook House to St Martin's Walk in the town centre will be discussed by Mole Valley District Council's development control committee on Wednesday, September 1.

SCC wants to change the use of three empty units in St Martin's Walk from retail to a library and multimedia centre, while the future of Pippbrook House in Reigate Road remains uncertain.

Next week SCC will be holding an exhibition to show people what a new library in St Martin's Walk could look like. The venue will be Unit 9, St Martin's Walk, off the High Street, Dorking.

The opening times will be 1pm to 5pm on Friday, August 20, and 9am to 1.30pm on Saturday, August 21.
