Success for Merstham colts

All the bowlers took wickets together will superb catches from Srikant Santosh and Will Fice.
Chief amongst the wicket takers were Janakan Bosch with four, Lucas Overtoom with three and Will Fice also with three. All the boys deserve praise for what was a great team performance.
Merstham's U11 side made 89 all out chasing the Surrey U15 Girls total of 125-5.
Merstham U13s also enjoyed a good win as they made 131-4 beating Woodmensterne's 81-9.
Solid batting from Ben Lee 30 and Mike Ellis 31 set up a competitive total for Merstham, this was then backed up by a solid performance in the field with all bowlers bowling well and well backed up by the fielders with Mike Ellis finishing of a good performance with figures of 2-8 meant Merstham restricted Woodmensterne to 81-9.
Merstham U14 105 -5 Woodmensterne 68 all out
Another strong performance was put in by the Merstham U14s (105-4) against Woodmensterne (68) with Mike Ellis continuing his good form with bowling figures of 5-12, after a strong team batting performance led by captain John Deans 31 led to a good total being The U16s also won, narrowly beating Woodmensterne (70-8) after posting 82-6.
Their third win in a row came on the back of a strong fielding performance making up for a below par batting performance.
Also a vital 21 down the order from Streun Clark help give the side something to bowl at and Mark Hornby 2-8 put Merstham on the way.
The Merstham U17 team lost after their total of 101-5 was well chased down by Sandersted who made 106-7.
The U17 in their first game of the season had a tight finish but were just unable to force the victory against a tidy Sandersted team. Merstham innings was made up with a fine 50 from Jonny Ellis following in the footsteps of his brother fine start to the season. In the field Ben Hatton showed is pace and control that has forced him in to the clubs first team with figures of 2-13.
