Have you got any big ideas to beat waste?
RESIDENTS are being asked what can be done to boost recycling across Surrey.
People have until August 12 to give their views about dealing with waste.
Jean Pearson, chairman of the Surrey Waste Partnership, said: "We review our strategies regularly but there are particularly good reasons for doing so now.
"One is that our residents have become so good at recycling that we believe we can exceed the targets set in the 2007 strategy.
"On top of that, new technologies are opening the door to improved options for treating waste.
"We plan to set an overall household reuse, recycling and composting target of 70 per cent by 2013/2014 but cannot do it without the co-operation and enthusiasm of our residents.
"That's why we want them to tell us what resources they need to do their bit towards reaching this goal."
Surrey Waste Partnership, made up of Surrey County Council and the 11 district and borough councils, is asking residents to fill out a questionnaire at www. surreywastepartnership.org.uk or at libraries and district and borough council offices.
