Two men punch and rob a 17-year-old in Epsom

A 17-year-old boy was robbed in Epsom at 4pm on Friday, October 5.

The victim was walking from the railway station to Sainsbury's on Kiln Lane and was approached by two men.

One of the men punched the boy in the face while the other searched his pockets and removed an Oyster card, a black Blackberry mobile phone and around £200 in cash.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene and the boy was taken to East Surrey Hospital for treatment to mouth injuries, including the loss of three teeth.

Investigating Officer, Detective Constable James Cumming, said: "The robbery took place in broad daylight in a very busy part of Epsom so there must have been people around who witnessed the incident and I would appeal to them to come forward.

"The victim was seriously assaulted during the robbery and this type of behaviour simply will not be tolerated and we will do all we can to find those responsible and bring them to justice." 

The first offender is described as a black man, aged 18 to 20-years-old, of slim build and was wearing a grey hooded jumper.

The second offender is described as a black man and was wearing a jacket with a fur lined hood and a Russian style fur hat which covered his ears.

Surrey Police have urged witnesses to come forward and anyone with information on the robbery should contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference EP/12/3941 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
