We needed a response after the Staines game and we got it
THAT was a good performance and Havant were lucky to get on the scoresheet and also that we didn't put more points on them.
We had young Fred Evans starting at tight-head and Fraser MacDonald at fly-half. Both are 19 years old and both did a good job, they played really well.
Fraser has never even come off the bench before, so it was good for him to get some experience at this level.
We started well, they had boosted their squad since we last played them, got a couple of centres in and a good winger, so we knew they would be a bit stronger than they had been earlier in the season, but after last week the boys were determined to put in a good performance and they did that.
James Faulkner was outstanding, he smashed them in the midfield and with Alrich Muller, their combination is working really well.
I don't know how many lineouts Harry Watts and Ben Lucas stole, that was really impressive and then we brought on Tom Bristow and Qin Wiseman later on, which compounded their misery a little bit.
We wasted a few chances, it could have been a lot more and their one try came from a move that didn't quite come off for us and they ran in a 60-metre interception try.
We made some silly forward passes and overran the ball on a couple of occasions, which was a little frustrating, but that's being picky really because we dominated every aspect of the game.
Overall I was very pleased with the forwards, they did really well against a big, heavy pack, there were some big lumps in the Havant side, and while their winger looked quick, he did not get enough ball and when he did we closed him down really well.
We all knew that it was not a good weekend the previous weekend [when we lost to Staines] and the boys owed it to each other and all the people that come every Saturday to watch to put in a good performance.
Now we need to step it up again this weekend and raise our game for the big game. Ampthill is going to be a challenge, but it's a challenge the players do rise to normally.
They pull out a big performance against the big teams and it would be nice to beat the second placed team, like we did when we played Tonbridge Juddians.
