Flood Watch issued for River Mole

A 'Flood Watch' has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Mole.

Residents are being warned to be prepared in the event of flooding caused by recent heavy rain and melting snow.

The Environment Agency has issued the Flood Watch for low level land and roads in the Dorking and Leatherhead areas.

Property flooding is not expected and the river's level has started to drop but the Environment Agency is

continuing to monitor river levels.

Sarah Hale, flood warning duty officer, said: "These flood watches have been issued because river levels are

rising due to the rainfall overnight, which could result in flooding of low level land and roads in some areas. We

are not anticipating property flooding from rivers at this stage, and the next few days will remain relatively dry

so river levels should drop again.
