He's no letdown
T he last time Patrick Monahan was booked for a Comedy Cottage gig he was snowed in and unable to get there. But the show must go on, so far from disappointing his audience, Patrick phoned in the gig – the mobile was put on loudspeaker and put to the mic and he did a short set to a full house.
Patrick is certainly on his way up in the comedy world – he won ITV's Show Me the Funny competition in August and has a DVD coming out at the end of this month.

HAVE A HUG: Patrick Monahan will be gigging in Reigate this week
But still he won't let us down because despite being in the middle of a UK tour he is happy to fulfil previously made plans to appear for Comedy Cottage in Reigate on Sunday, November 13.
Patrick started off on the north east of England circuit before being invited to perform all over the world as far away as Australia, the Middle East, Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent and Europe.
He has been the warm-up for Jonathan Ross and Paul O'Grady, made numerous TV appearances and played up and down the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall.
Patrick is known for his extremely clean and accessible material and as such is also invited to be an after dinner speaker and awards host.
A friendly sort of chap, Patrick likes to give his audiences a hug, hence the name of his tour show is called Hug Me I Feel Good – so if you need a bit of a lift he has got to be the comedian for you.
Patrick headlines a line-up featuring So You Think You're Funny winner Daniel Simmonsen, musical comedian Jonny Awesome and also Charmain Hughes, Alex Perry and Nelson De Gouvia.
Profits from the show will go to the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.
