TWO workshops to advise small and medium-sized enterprises on improving their energy efficiency are taking place this month.

Organised by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, the sessions are free of charge and aim to help firms manage and monitor energy use.

The first event, a breakfast on Thursday, February 9, will be held at Hartsfield Manor in Sandy Lane, Betchworth. It is being run in conjunction with the Carbon Trust and Surrey Chambers of Commerce.

The breakfast will begin at 7.30am with the training session taking place between 8-10am.

People who attend can have a one-to-one consultation with an expert and there will also be networking opportunities.

On Wednesday, February 29, there will be a day-long utility management workshop, at the Harlequin Theatre in Warwick Quadrant, Redhill, from 9.30am until 4pm.

Supported by the European-funded UTILISE programme, experts will help visitors create an action plan for their business and those attending will receive a workpack with further information.

To book a place for the first event, visit www.carbontrust. co.uk or e-mail the council at sustainability@reigate-banstead. gov.uk and, for the second, visit www.utilise.org.uk, e-mail info@utilise.org.uk or call 01444 477501.
